Peterborough Curling Club members were back on the ice Monday with one of the two senior men’s daytime cohorts being the first to play games for the 2020-21 season.
The curling season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. Jane Reid decided to put her sewing skills to use to help battle the pandemic. She started making face masks with the supplies she had on hand. Then she reached out to PCC
It was so exciting to know throughout the 2020 World Wheelchair curling championship that Jon Thurston from PCC was with Team Canada in Switzerland helping the team to win a Silver medal, and guarantee Canada's qualification to play in next year's 2021 World's. Congratulations Jon, and his team mates - Mark Ideson, Ina Forrest, Dennis Thiessen, Collinda Joseph, Wendy Morgan (team leader), Wayne Kiel (coach).
Congratulations to Carl Bax skip, Anita Mellow vice, Alec Denys second, and Dan Flint lead on their gold medal win at the 2020 Ontario Winter Games. PCC is so fortunate to be wheelchair accessible and have these curlers as members of our club.
