Open Doubles

Open Doubles - Sunday 7 - 9 pm

Since becoming an Olympic sport, Doubles has rapidly gained popularity in North America.  

Each team of two players throws five rocks in per end.  As a result, the game is fast paced allowing 8 ends to be played in under an hour and a half.  

This is an open team league (any two players) welcoming all levels of experience for a fun and social time and a new twist on the game.  Instruction is available for anybody new to the format - the emphasis is on having a good time. Some players opt to throw a stone and then jump up and sweep it like the pros but there are lots of other options.  Some teams have the non throwing team member sweep and the wheelchair teams play without any sweepers. You can find the option that works best for your team. Individual players are welcome to sign up and the league convenor will try and match you up with a teammate. 

The shorter playing time means you can play 8 ends, have some social time and still be headed home by 9 pm, great for those with a busy schedule.
